Rebeca Sanchez is a Los Angeles based artist and a graduate from California State University of Long Beach, receiving her BFA in Drawing and Painting as well as her Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art. She is now an art teacher at Crescenta Valley High School. Being brought to Los Angeles at six months old from Mexico, Sanchez was exposed to the Angelino life style and a mix of multitude of cultures around the world. Inspired by the architecture and color of cities, Sanchez works with large-scale mix media drawings that convey the texture and bustling life of the urban cities from her childhood to now. This intuitive accumulation mirrors the complexity of the cityscapes, bringing in a global aspect to her work.
